Jeff Glynn 10Which team(s) do you coach?
    •  Varsity Football- Head Coach
    •  Page Middle School 7th Grade Basketball- Head Coach
    •  Varsity Baseball- Assistant Coach

How long have you been coaching?
This will be my 3rd year at Lamphere, 11 years overall.

Jeff Glynn 13What made you decide to become a coach?

I was very fortunate, as a kid I was coached by some of the best coaches you could ask for. Luckily for me, the win-loss record was the least impressive thing about my coaches. We were always very successful but they taught u more about life and Lessons that would transcend far past any playing field.

All my coaches played a huge part in my life, but the three in particular were my head football coach Mike Boyd, Baseball Coach Dan Webster and assistant football coach Mel Nuss. I miss Coach Nuss terribly, he has been gone for 6 years now. I think about him every day and I just hope he know how much he meant to me and so many of his players. I hope I can make half the impact he made on kids and someday make him proud for my work in coaching.

Jeff Glynn 11What's your favorite thing about coaching?
The relationships, in particular the building of those relationships. Breaking down barriers of kids and developing that bond that lasts a lifetime. I love game planning and teaching, but those relationships make our successes mean that much more. Allows me an ability to be able to get kids to really open up about things they might not have even shared with their family.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned from coaching?
Don’t get obsessed with the results but become obsessed with the process. Being result driven is superficial and the likelihood of sustained success is rare. Give your players the tools that will translate to not only succeed now on the field but empower for success as a student as well as being good Fathers and husbands some day.

Jeff Glynn 14What is one thing you would like your student athletes to remember in life?
That no matter how long it’s been since I last coached you, I’m simply one phone call away. Any time day or night I’m available to talk about anything. You are never alone in this world, until they put me in the ground I will always be there for my players.

What do you love about Lamphere Schools?
The people, you can’t find a better group of people to work with or work for. From the kids all the way to teachers, parents, admin and everything in between. Nothing like it.

Jeff Glynn 12Tell us a bit about your family:
Well as many know I am lucky to have the real life version of Cheryl Yost from Remember the Titans. My daughter Miya is 7 years old and my best friend. She loves being around “The Boys” and at practice. I’m also lucky to have the best co-pilot you could ask for with my girlfriend Liz. She’s the one that pushes me every day to be better and is a rockstar when it comes to this coaching deal. Coaches Wives have the toughest job in coaching and she’s all over it. Finally we have two mutants that some people would refer to as dogs. Nala and Winston definitely keep us on our toes but we love our pups.
