Tell us about your family: My husband Michael teaches high school band and fifth grade band at Lamphere. We have one tabby cat named Kitty and a black lab named Olive.

What kind of hobbies do you have? What do you like to do?: My hobby is playing solo cornet in the Five Lakes Silver Band, a British-style brass band. We are an international award-winning ensemble and compete annually on the national stage at the North American Brass Band Championships. We play all genres of music, but my favorite is contest music because it is extremely difficult. I also like to cook, listen to and read all things Hamilton, check my steps on FitBit, and do home renovation projects with Michael.

Are you a graduate of Lamphere Schools?: No. I graduated from Blissfield High School in 2000.

How long have you worked at Lamphere?: The 2016-2017 school year marks my tenth year in the district.

What's your favorite thing about being a part of the Lamphere district?: My favorite thing about being a part of the Lamphere district is working with Michael to make the band program great. We are surrounded by a supportive staff, Band Booster parent organization, and community, who appreciate what we do and want to see our Lamphere ensembles succeed. We are allowed the opportunity to take risks, try new teaching techniques, and continue our own education on a professional level.
